So, I think it should go without saying, but I have to say it anyways…

If you don’t know how to do something, please seek out an engineer or someone you know in the construction field. Like, I would love to knock down a wall in my house to make a bigger doorway, but I know that (because I spoke with my dad who has been in construction for ever), I can’t because it just happens to be a “load bearing wall”. Sounds insignificant right? So wrong. That’s a big no-no.

So please, if you have a project that is outside of re-arranging furniture, choosing a new paint color or putting stuff up on the walls, reach out and make sure you budget accordingly. There are always permit issues you need to check out, limitations of what your house can support, etc.

In a nutshell, don’t take on anything you can’t handle by yourself or with moderate help. The biggest part of any project is prepwork, and that includes making sure you know what you’re getting in to 🙂
